About

Trisha Virdi is a pianist and composer for concert and visual media whose work explores the intersection of music and storytelling. She began studying piano at the age of four in Tokyo, before attending the Berklee College of Music, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring and minors in Video Game Scoring and Visual Culture and New Media Studies. She later completed a Master's degree in Music Composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, graduating with distinction. Her work spans concert music, film scoring, production, orchestration, arranging, and music preparation, collaborating with directors, composers, performers, and ensembles across a range of projects. Influenced by composers such as Debussy, Bach, Michael Giacchino, John Powell, and John Williams, she combines classical craftsmanship with a cinematic approach to create music that is both emotionally engaging and narratively driven.Alongside her composing career, Trisha is a passionate educator with experience teaching composition, music theory, ear training, and piano. Having lived and studied in Japan, India, the United States, and the United Kingdom, she brings an international perspective to both her creative practice and teaching.

Stolen Lullabies

Built from fragments of the pieces that shaped me, this piano concerto in 2 movements is a reflection on the repertoire I longed to have growing up. Everything borrowed, nothing truly stolen, until what remains is both familiar and entirely my own.

Cheshire Cat Smile

An orchestral exploration of wonder and distortion, Cheshire Cat Smile reimagines Alice in Wonderland as a journey from innocence to unraveling. Gentle, dreamlike textures give way to chaos and fragmentation, as the music drifts between curiosity, illusion, and quiet madness.

Trisha composed the score for my short documentary film and it was a pleasure working with her. Her communication throughout the project was excellent and she was committed to producing something we thought was perfect, creating many versions with tiny tweaks for us. She was entirely professional and incredibly talented which meant the final outcome is something I am so so happy with!
- Phoebe Brooks (Director, Clare's Law)

Working alongside Trisha has been a pleasure. From the moment she expressed interest in my short film, I knew I was in good hands. Our initial discussions were insightful, and Trisha demonstrated an understanding of my vision. When she presented the first iteration of the music after just a few weeks, I was impressed by the quality and direction. The collaboration flowed well as we exchanged feedback and fine-tuned the composition. The end result surpassed my expectations, adding depth and emotion to my film that I couldn't have achieved alone. I'm incredibly grateful for Trisha's work. My film has truly been elevated by her work, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
